I am a HUGE fan of this show. But yes, finally someone else commented on the high frequency squeaking during help>slip and Estimated. Gawd what is that! is that like a metronome bleeding through? ;P

Great show, great recording, but not without a couple of glitches.(1) First set is not continuous, there are crowd/audience cuts between some of the first set songs.(2) Disc 2/3 has sound problems. Help, Slipknot! and Estimated all have this intermittent, high frequency whine/squeak. I find that it is annoying to the point of distracting from the music.

SSIA. Set 1 is killer. The JS is a great opener and the Sugaree shows that the band is back in the transportation businesss. Even the Red Rooster is hot, and I don't say that lightly. Every song in this set is played very well. Things truly exploded at this show with the Let it Grow to end the first set. It rarely got better than this in the early to mid-80's.
The sound quality of the recording is very good. How could it not be from Jim & Doug Oade. I used to hang out with Jim and his buddy Carlos before a lot of shows this tour and other mid-80's shows. They were a always great crew. Extremely nice guys who were into the music for the music. There are lots of stories about taper-snobs from that era, but these guys were not among them. They made those long waits to get into GA shows very entertaining.
Anyway, set 2 has an unpleasant ring in the PA for a good portion of it. It happened at the show and there was nothing anyone seemed to be able to do to stop it. The set never got going from that promising first set because of it. The Help is on the Way is almost completely disjointed as a result.
D/L the first set and love it. It did not get any better in this era. However, I would not bother with the second set unless you were there.
